Training course
Power BI 101: Fundamentals and Data Modeling
Having Power BI installed is not enough. In five hours of in-person training you learn the fundamentals of data modeling: the criteria and the logic behind clean, automated, scalable solutions.

- 5 hours, in person in Madrid
- Beginner level: no previous data analysis experience needed
- Small group: 10 people at most
- Taught by Carlos Pascual Adell, CEO of Singular Beacon
Hands-on, applied training
Stop fixing formulas. Start building solutions.
What separates a report that really works from hours spent fixing formulas is understanding the principles underneath: how a data model is structured, which decisions to make at the outset and which mistakes to avoid from day one.
Most of the difficulties people run into with Power BI do not come from the tool. They come from modeling decisions made without clear criteria at the start. That is exactly what this course teaches: the core principles that determine whether a Power BI solution is sustainable or not.
In five hours of in-person training you learn the fundamentals of data modeling in Power BI, the criteria and the logic behind clean, automated, scalable solutions, guided by Carlos Pascual Adell, CEO of Singular Beacon, who applies these same methods in real projects with companies.

Who it is for
Who is this course for?
Profile
Technical profiles who are not data specialists and work in Microsoft environments (finance, operations, marketing, HR). They already have access to Power BI through their corporate license, but do not yet know how to get the most out of it.
Where you are today
Today you do your analysis in Excel or SQL, and the process feels too manual, too slow and hard to maintain. You already work with data in Microsoft environments and want to build real solutions with the license you already have. This course gives you the principles you need to start doing that in Power BI from day one.
Learning outcomes
By the end of the course you will be able to
Model with sound judgment
Understand the logic of data modeling and make the right decisions from the start, avoiding the most common mistakes that hold people back in Power BI.
Connect and transform your data
Connect your own data sources and transform them with Power Query, without relying on manual formulas.
Define measures with DAX
Build a structured model and define DAX measures that maintain themselves, with no constant intervention.
Design useful reports
Design clear reports that support decision-making in your organization.
Publish securely
Publish and share reports in Power BI Service with sound security and access control criteria.

Methodology
How the course is taught
Formatting
In person and intensive, structured so that you understand each concept before moving on to the next.
Approach
This is not a tour of the tool's features. The focus is on building the right judgment: what to do, what to avoid and why, applied to real cases from the very first block.
Who teaches it
Carlos Pascual Adell, CEO of Singular Beacon, uses Power BI in real projects with companies and organizations across different sectors. What you learn in the classroom is not academic theory but the methodology that works in practice, with references to projects such as Observatorio de Bienestar, a publicly accessible data analysis solution developed by Singular Beacon.
Requirements
No previous data analysis experience is required. It is enough to work with data regularly in your organization and to want to stop depending on formulas.
Why The Singular Academy?
Modeling before interface
The course starts with the principles of structuring data, not with the tool's menus.
Practicing consultants
What we teach is the methodology Singular Beacon applies today in real projects with organizations.
Groups of 10 people at most
Each participant works with their own data and gets their specific questions answered during the session.
First step of a multi-level program
This course is the entry point to a training program structured by levels, all the way up to advanced.
